Logan Kowalczyk

Assistant Men's Soccer Coach

Logan Kowalczyk was named Assistant Coach for the University of Detroit Mercy men’s soccer program in July 2023. Kowalczyk's main focus is handling goalkeeping coaching responsibilities. 
 
During his tenure at BGSU, Kowalczyk started in 26 of 27 total games in goal for the Falcons compiling a 16-8-3 record while racking up 12 total shutouts and 59 saves with an impressive 0.83 goals against average (GAA). He also was a two-time Academic All-Mid-American Conference (MAC) selection and an All-MAC Second Team selection.
 
Kowalczyk’s first season as a starter in goal was during his sophomore campaign (2020-21) where he saw action in 13 games with 12 starts posting a 6-5-1 record while making 30 saves with a goals-against average of 0.80. In MAC play, he recorded five shutouts en route to a 5-2-1 mark making 21 stops with a staggering 0.59 GAA to earn Second Team honors while leading Bowling Green to a MAC championship and NCAA Tournament berth. Kowalczyk finished the season ranked second in the MAC and 19th in the entire country in shutouts. He was also ranked in minutes played (MAC-2nd, nationally-25th), GAA (MAC-2nd, nationally-37th), save percentage (MAC-3rd, nationally-68th), total saves (MAC-5th, nationally-82nd) and saves per game (MAC-5th, nationally-138th).
 
During his junior campaign (2021), Kowalczyk started in all 14 matches recording seven shutouts with 26 saves and 0.89 GAA before missing the remainder of the season due to injury. His 9-3-2 record laid the foundation for BGSU to earn an at-large bid making a return trip to the NCAA tournament where the Falcons advanced to the second round.
 
Kowalczyk earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications from BGSU in 2023.
